I don’t usually make vertically framed videos but the reason is clear. What once started out as an flip of Axel Boy and Raiser’s tune slowly morphed into it’s own song (you can still catch some samples lifted from ‘Back Off’).
Once the song had it’s own legs it still felt like something was missing. Dropping in a 2012 Chicago Drill chant was the next move.
“I Don’t Like” is the debut single by American rapper Chief Keef featuring fellow American rapper Lil Reese. Produced by Young Chop,
Chief Keef is the Chicago legend of rap, trap, and drill music. His “take no Sh*t” swagger helped influence more crunch and squelch of the sound design.
The official release of this song is still up in the air. I never planned on it being a remix, so this version may stay as a ‘performance only’ song. I do plan to release this in the long overdue Part 2 of my old af Club & Dub, but may replace or remove the copy-write samples.
This music video is another simple project turned more complex the more I worked at it. I had a lot of fun fiddling with Kdenlive and FL Studio’s ZGameEditor Visualizer to make some ‘teleporting’ edits and audio reactive FXs. I’m really digging this Multi-level porch shot and may whip up some better dance moves for a future video.
